November 28, 1925
R. J. Gary Co. announced the following sale items: Ladies Coats - $6 to $30; Men’s Suits $15 to $25; Woolen, Silks and other goods - 40¢ per yard to $3.50 per yard.
Thanksgiving day was very quietly celebrated in St. Martinville, the banks and all public offices were closed and a large number of people went to Lafayette to see the Lafayette-Natchitochees foot ball game in the afternoon.
Mr. Wade Burden was making extensive repairs to his property on North Main Street and was planning to open a garage on January 1.
J.H. Duchamp, local Chevrolet dealer, attended a banquet hosted by the Chevrolet Motor Co. in the St. Charles Hotel in New Orleans.
The St. Joseph Catholic Society No. 2 of Cade had their banner blessed at the Catholic Church.
Adolphe Judice who was manager of the Ruth Plantation for several years moved to Stella Plantation, which is part of the big St. John, and will oversee the coming crop.

SMSH Coach Carroll Delahoussaye was carried from the football field following St. Martinville’s 14-8 quarterfinal victory over Leesville. The win was Delahoussaye’s 100th career victory as head coach at SMSH, making him only the third person in Louisiana prep history to achieve that mark in just 10 years.
The National Secondary Education Council announced that Terry D. Martin of Cecilia Sr. High was named an Academic All-American.
Officers of the Catahoula 8th grade 4-H Club were Jason Broussard, president; Micko Theriot, vice president; Yvette Thibodeaux, secretary; Luke Theriot, treasurer; Teresa Albert. reporter; and Ronnie Courville and Yvonne Thibodeaux, song leaders.
Members of the St. Martinville Rotary Club celebrated the 50th anniversary of the chartering of the local civic club.

A team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) arrived in St. Martinville to examine all aspects of the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office policy and procedures, management operations and support services - a voluntary process to gain accreditation - a highly prized recognition of law enforcement excellence.
Officers of the Cecilia FBLA Club were Jennie Richard, president; Heather Hebert, vice president; Ashley Angelle, secretary/treasurer; Danielle Hinze, reporter; and Jamie Faulk, parliamentarian.
Cecilia High School Beta Club officers were Brent Angelle, president; Molly Huval, vice president; Amy Betancourt, secretary/treasurer; and Emilee Burdick, reporter.
