November 21, 1925
As per instruction of the Grand Jury, Sheriff Wade O. Martin gave warning to the public that from now on, all those who will violate the Sunday law and allow the use of Punch Boards will be prosecuted.
The report of cotton ginned in Louisiana up to November 9th was 1925, 743,695 bales nearly double the amount of the previous year in 1924, 418,747 bales. St. Martin parish for the same date had ginned 5,964 bales in 1925 against 3.791 bales in 1924. Nearly every parish in the State produced double the crop of 1924.
The scale model for Arthur C. Morgan’s Longfellow Evangeline memorial, to be erected in St. Martinville on the Evangeline Highway, will be cast in plaster within a few days for exhibition at the inaugural of the permanent international trade exposition.

Newly elected officers of the Breaux Bridge Sr. High 4-H Club were Sandra Guidry, president; Steve Hebert, vice president; Sue Landry, secretary; Cathy Coles, treasurer; Melissa Breaux, reporter, Jimmy Breaux and Leah Barron, song leaders, and Tony Angelle, parliamentarian.
Parish Junior Leadership officers were Sue Landry, president; Sonny Durand, vice president; Cathy Coles, secretary; Patty Hayes, reporter; Lynette Ledoux, treasurer; Patty Ledoux, historian; and Lucy Bienvenu, parliamentarian.
Earl Chauffe was elected president of the Breaux Bridge-Cecilia Chapter of AARP. Other officers were Edwin Guidry, vice president; Sister Margarita Templet, MHS, secretary; and Don St. Germain, treasurer.
The Breaux Bridge City Council approved the town’s 1976 fiscal year budget showing a projected overall surplus of $17,840.
Selected as Ecrevettes, goodwill ambassadors and hostesses for the City of Breaux Bridge’s Crawfish Festival, were Jennifer LeBlanc, Connie Castille, Rachael Boudreaux, Liz Huval, Patty Hayes, Kara Calais, Dana Breaux and Faye Guidry.
Carmen James of St. Martinville was selected Sweetheart of Evangeline Area Tri-Parish Vo-Tech School.

Thirteen applications were received by the the Federal Communications Commission for authority to construct an FM radio station in Breaux Bridge.
Breaux Bridge High Library Club offers were Melissa Batiste, president; Luke Barilleaux, vice president; Monica Alexander, secretary: Thomasina Olivier, treasurer; and Latasha Smith, reporter.
Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center assumed ownership of Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Martin, formerly known as the St. Martin Infirmary.
George Robin of Arnaudville and Lisa Arceneaux of Breaux Bridge were inducted into the USL chapter of Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society.

City, parish and state officials presided over ribbon cutting ceremonies marking the nna completions of renovations to the Duchamp Opera House in downtown St. Martinville.
A Mass led by Bishop Edward O‘Donnell was held in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Sacred Heart Chapel in Butte La Rose. Opened in 1975, the Chapel was constructed on land donated by Mr. and Mrs. Herman Dupuis.
Officers of the 4-H Club at Cecilia High School included Eva LeBlanc, president; Kaci Allemond, vice-president; Estelle Latiolais, secretary; Emilee Burdick, reporter; Lauren Stoutes, parliamentarian; and Kenny Comeaux, treasurer.
