– Aside from the ongoing MPERS situation and a related council resolution, the Henderson Town Council had a relatively quiet November meeting.
Town Attorney Jerry Mallet informed the council that he, Mayor Sherbin Collette, and Town Clerk Courtlyn Poirrier will travel to Baton Rouge today (November 19) for a meeting concerning the Municipal Police Employees’ Retirement System (MPERS) and the town’s ongoing litigation with the system. The specific details of the meeting were not discussed.
The council also approved a resolution authorizing the mayor to sign any necessary documents related to the State of Louisiana Office of Community Development for the 2025-26 fiscal year.
Police Chief Troy Dupuis presented the department’s monthly statistics, and with no further business, the meeting was adjourned until December.
