Residence of the month – The St. Martinville Garden Club has selected the home of Judy “Ju-Ju” Greig as the recipient of its November Residential Beautification Award. Located at 308 W. Port Street, the property features landscaping of vincas, spray roses, Indian hawthorne, firebush, birds of paradise and variegated ginger. (Submitted)

A free concert of Louisiana roots music will take place at the historic Duchamp Opera House in downtown St. Martinville this Sunday, November 23 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

This family-friendly, all-ages show will feature original music by Katie Rees & Jonno Frischberg. The concert will also have spotlight performances by their talented students, and it will be a great chance to support these local musicians and see the young musicians cut their teeth onstage.

Admission is free, but donations are welcome. Pay what you wish.

Live from Duchamp Opera House is an ongoing concert series dedicated to the appreciation and celebration of Louisiana roots music. Come support local music and local students. We hope to see you there!

Business of the month – The St. Martinville Garden Club has selected the St. Joseph/St. Theresa Center located at 600 S. Martin Luther King Drive, as the recipient of its November Business Beautification Award. The property features vinca blooming in a variety of colors. Garden Club Meet – Debbie Guidry, center, served as guest speaker at the November meeting of the St. Martinville Garden Club, held at the St. Martinville Library.
