The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced bridge updates and closures affecting St. Martin Parish.
The LA 96 Bridge at Bayou Teche will be reduced to one lane on Tuesday, Nov. 4, and Wednesday, Nov. 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily, weather permitting. This temporary lane reduction is necessary to allow crews to perform routine inspection and maintenance of the bridge. Emergency vehicles will have access but may experience brief delays. Regular traffic will be maintained with a 12foot lane restriction for oversized loads passing through the work zone.
Additionally, DOTD has closed the Ches Courville Road Bridge following a routine inspection conducted on Oct. 22. The bridge will remain closed until further notice.
In related updates, the Delcambre Road Bridge has been reopened by the St. Martin Parish Government and is now accessible to the public.
