Bienvenu releases 4th book in sci-fi series

– Local author Bob Bienvnu has released the fourth installment in his “Time Traveller” science fiction adventure series.

Bienvenu, born and raised in St. Martinville, said the book, “Time Babies: Getting their Wings” follows the teen years in Layville, Louisiana, of protagonist Gerard Bourque, where he discovers that his father, a professor of physics, has created a time machine.

Gerard and his high school sweetheart and future wife, Susan de Mahy, go on adventures through time together.

Among their stops are a trip to Queen Elizabeth I’s coronation; their own marriage in London in the 1500s; to Renaissance Italy where they meet Leonardo da Vinci in 1509, who erases them by painting pictures of them; and to Trenton, New Jersey in 1776, where they meet George Washington before his crossing of the Delaware River.

The book also takes the couple through wormholes to alien planets where they are contacted by two beings who help them destroy an asteroid headed towards earth in 2015.

The couple also begin raising fraternal twins Star and Hayden and bring the twins on other adventures, meeting King Arthur of Camelot in the 13th century and Cleopatra in 30 BC, saving her from a snake bite.

The family also celebrates the holidays with Gerard’s father, Dr. Robert Bourque, who was saved from a 1960 fatal car crash by his son, traveling to St. Moritz, Switzerland, in December of 1904 to help an alien race protect the galaxy.

Bienvenu has written 21 books and became a powerlifter after discovering God, he said, winning 54 powerlifting world championships. Bienvenu also has started a TV program and has written books ranging in subjects from science fiction to Christianity to health.
