The Story of Tea presented to Beta Rho chapter during September program

Dr. Jude Theriot was the guest speaker for the September 22nd meeting of Beta Rho chapter. He presented a program on The Story of Tea at the home of hostess and program chair Arleen Oubre.

During the presentation Dr. Theriot explained as a medical director of a brain injury and stroke rehabilitation center he hosted a weekly group with patients.

He called the group Peaceful Habits - a place to unwind and have conversations as well as sharing a pot of tea among friends.

Dr, Theriot prepared a selection of green tea and white tea as well as chilled black and oolong tea describing each in color, scent and flavor. A variety of tea pots were used in his presentation. Members enjoyed learning the history of the kinds of tea and the pots used in the presentation.

Everyone agreed it was a relaxing evening spent with friends learning about tea and a cup of tea can’t be beat. It’s subtle flavors and stimulation make it delightful in any season, at any time of the day.

At the conclusion of the presentation President Lynnie Bienvenu conducted the business meeting calling on committee chair to report on coming activities.

Program chair Bobbie Theriot announced the next meeting will be held on October 13 at the home of Lynnie Bienvenu. A program on Fashion will be presented.

Adopted Family chair Shirley Fuselier announced the chapter continues to support a local family monthly.

Thanksgiving social chair Bobbie Theriot announced the annual event will be held on November 25.

Members present for the evening were President Lynnie Bienvenu, hostess and program leader Arleen Oubre, Elaine Case, Louella Champagne and Bobbie Theriot.
