Top producers
Several of the parish’s most efficient sugarcane farmers who were honored with high yield certificates for the 1988 crop at the annual Field Day in August 1989 included, from left, Richard and Chris Latiolais of Parks, tops in the parish with 7,783 lbs. of sugar peracre; and Jackie, Ricky and Mike Comb of the Comb Farm in Breaux Bridge, 7,071 lbs. Others receiving certificates were L&;L Farm (Clet Lasseigne and L. J. Latiolais) of St. Martinville, 6,628 lbs.; and Carl Poche Jr. of St. Martinville, 7,174 lbs.
