Pontoon Bridge
This view of the pontoon bridge along the West Atchafalaya Protection Levee serving the Butte La Rose community showed how low the water dropped since the Henderson Control Structure was opened in July 2000. The low water required the temporary closing of the bridge for repairs. Low water conditions were expected to last until early in 2001.
