– Dozens of young football players ages 7 and up attended Saturday’s St. Martinville Senior High Tigers Football Camp featuring Early Doucet at the SMSH football stadium to go through drills and activities aimed at honing their football skills.
The camp was led by St. Martinville Senior High football coaches with senior football players also helping out in the event.
Doucet, a 2004 graduate of St. Martinville Senior High, earned firstteam Class 4A football honors for the Tigers as a senior and played on the state championship basketball team for SMSH as a sophomore. He was ranked the No. 1 receiver in the high school ranks nationwide as a senior and was a consensus top-five prospect by every major recruiting service.
Doucet played four season at LSU, starting 24 of 47 games and led LSU with seven receptions in the BCS championship win over Ohio State as a senior.
Doucet was taken in the third round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals and played for the team through the 2012 season.
The camp was for all positions with seven-onseven activities, offensive line/defensive line work, combine drills, team competitions and fundamental drills taught.
