Quilting Bee

One of the more colorful crafts demonstrated in 1980 during “St. Martinville Day” at Vermilionville in Lafayertte was this quilting project being done mostly by Catahoula ladies. Among those working on the giant quilt were, clockwise from bottom left, Tina Frederick, Georgia Courville, Dot Boutte, Priscilla Bulliard, Euna Guidry, Hilda Savoy, Emma Lou Bourque and Shirley B. Poche. The history and culture of St. Martinville and St. Martin Parish were highlighted throughout the day as more than 500 visitors toured the Vermilionville attraction.
