DOTD awards bids for parish work
The St. Martinville Garden Club’s Residential beautification award winner for July is the KC Roy Home. Located at 2034 Albert Street, St. Martinville. The manicured landscaping showcases pink and white drift roses, lariope, Yupon holly shrubs, flax lilies, Aztec grass and asparagus ferns.

Baton Rouge – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced that 29 projects around the state received bids in June. Sixteen contractors presented apparent low bids totaling $190.5 million.

St. Martin Parish projects awarded and their apparent low bids include:

Replacement of creek bridges on LA 975, $1,743,596.60.

Milling, patching, overlay, and drainage on LA 96 between LA 347 and LA 352 in St. Martin Parish: $12,025,234.09 When bids for projects are received, an “apparent low bidder” is identified, although the process of actually finalizing and awarding the contract takes about 30 days.

Construction projects are prioritized by road/bridge condition, urgency of improvements, type/volume of traffic, crash records, unforeseeable emergencies that caused damage, and several other factors.
