The new visitor center in the Longfellow-Evangeline Historic Site opened to the public in June 2005 although the staff was still moving into the administrative portion of the sprawling complex. The formal dedication of the $1.8 million project was scheduled later in summer or in the early fall, once repainting of the nearby Maison Olivier is completed.
