Patricia T. Guidry, St. Martin Parish Registrar of Voters, is reminding all parish residents that the Louisiana Secretary of State has launched both the annual canvass and a new extended canvass across the state. This important process is designed to confirm each voter’s physical and mailing address, ensuring that voter registration records are accurate and up to date.
The canvass is a statewide effort to verify current residency and voter registration details. Keeping the voter list current helps maintain the integrity of the electoral process and ensures that all eligible voters receive the correct information and ballots for upcoming elections.
If you receive a card in the mail for someone who no longer lives at your address, write “does not live here” on the unopened envelope and return it to your mailbox for the postal service to process.
If you receive an address confirmation notice or an extended address confirmation notice, please take a few minutes to complete the card and return it to the Registrar’s office. No postage is required—the cards are postage-paid for your convenience.
In the event you receive multiple cards, fill out and return only the most recent one.
Several parish voters have recently become inactive. If you receive any confirmation notice, responding promptly will help restore your active voter status and ensure you remain eligible to participate in all elections.
For any questions or concerns about the canvass or your voter registration status, contact the St. Martin Parish Registrar of Voters office at 337-394-2204.
