Beta Rho chapter of Beta Sigma Phi held its final meeting of the 20242025 sorority year on May 27. President Lynnie Bienvenu conducted the meeting and called on committee chair to finalize reports and announced new committee chair for the coming year.
Adopted Family chair Shirley Fuselier announced the chapter will continue to support a local family in the coming year.
Program chair Bobbie Theriot announced the first meeting of the 20252026 sorority year will be held on September 8 at the Theriot home. A guest speaker will present a program on Home Planning: The House-Architecture to Finance.
Installation of officers was held during the meeting. Officers installed for the coming year are Lynnie Bienvenu, president; Bobbie Theriot, vice president and extension officer; Arleen Oubre, recording secretary and corresponding secretary; Shirley Fuselier, treasurer; Louella Champagne, civil defense and Elaine Case, parliamentarian.
Beginning Day chair Louella Champagne announced the annual event will be held in August as the chapter begins their 69th year in Beta Sigma Phi with the theme Angel’s of Friendship.
The Hattie B. Maraist Senior Girl Award was presented to St. Martinville High School Salutatorion Kiasley Hills as announced by Bobbie Theriot, chair. Members presented a program on The World Around Us - Memorial Day, in honor of the courage, sacrifice, and enduring legacy of the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.
Everyone agreed Memorial Day is a special day which should be observed by all Americans while paying tribute to members of the military for upholding founding values of our nation.
Program chair Theriot presented a patriotic door prize to Shirley Fuselier.
President Lynnie Bienvenu was the recipient of the Courtesy gift presented by chair Arleen Oubre.
Perfect attendance gifts were presented to President Bienvenu and Bobbie Theriot.
