DOTD announces closures on US 90 North and Smede Hwy

The Dept. of Transportation and Developmentt (DOTD) announces that the following road and lane closures will take place on U.S. 90 northbound and La. 92-1 (Smede Highway) for construction related to the La. 92-1 project.

La. 92-1 (Smede Hwy.) from its intersection with U.S. 90 to Freeman Road, .13 miles east of its intersection with U.S. 90, will be fully closed to traffic beginning on Sunday, June 1, at 8 p.m. until Thursday, June 12 at 6 a.m., weather permitting.

This closure is necessary to allow crews to reconstruct La. 92-1 at its intersection with U.S. 90.

The detour for westbound traffic will be La. 182 (Old Spanish Trail Hwy.) then east on La. 88 (Coteau Rd.) towards U.S. 90.

The detour for eastbound traffic will be La. 88 (Coteau Rd.) then North on La. 182 (Old Spanish Trail Hwy) towards La. 92-1.

A detour route will be posted.

Emergency vehicles will not have access through the area.

The outside travel lane of U.S. 90 northbound at its intersection with La. 92-1 (Smede Hwy) will have nighttime lane closures beginning on Sunday, June 1, until Thursday, June 12, weather permitting.

This nightly lane closure will begin at 8 p.m. and continue until 6 a.m. the following morning.

This closure is necessary to allow crews to reconstruct La. 92-1 at its intersection with U.S. 90.

Emergency vehicles will have access to the area but may encounter delays.
