- In 1993, members of the Louisiana National Guards’ 205th Engineer Battallion were busy making repairs and improvements to facilities at Lake Martin between Breaux Bridge and Parks. Here a dump truck from Covington’s Co. A drops of a load of dirt as a bulldozer stands by to spread the soil. The first phase of the project saw 6,000 cubic yards of dirt used to raise a 3,600 foot section of levee on the north side of the lake near the Ruth Canal.
