- In 1993, members of the Louisiana National Guards’ 205th Engineer Battallion were busy making repairs and improvements to facilities at Lake Martin between Breaux Bridge and Parks. The first phase of the project saw 6,000 cubic yards of dirt used to raise a 3,600 foot section of levee on the north side of the lake near the Ruth Canal.
