St. Martinville – Chester Cedars, the Chief Legal Counsel for the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office, has been appointed by the Speaker of the House to serve on the Louisiana Judiciary Commission.
The Judiciary Commission, created by Article 5, Section 25 of the Louisiana Constitution, is a 14-member board responsible for investigating any allegations of misconduct against any judge, justice of the peace, or magistrate that performs any judicial function.
Following such investigations, recommendations by the board for disciplinary action against judicial officers are presented to the Louisiana Supreme Court for final disposition.
Sheriff Becket Breaux congratulated Cedars on the appointment.
