$10M project for parish announced by DOTD

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning on May 12, construction will commence on a $10.06 million dollar project along a 2.98-mile stretch of La. 347 (Poydras Hwy), from La. 351 (Ruth Bridge Hwy) to La. 328 (Anse Broussard Hwy), in St. Martin Parish.

This project consists of milling, in-place base rehab, asphalt concrete overlay, drainage improvements and related work.

The work is estimated to take place Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.

Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures beginning Wednesday, April 23, 2025 to allow utilities to be relocated for this project.

Once construction begins, intermittent lane closures will also be required to perform the work. Therefore, drivers should expect delays.

Emergency vehicles will have access through this area.

The road will be open to regular traffic with an 11-foot lane restriction on oversized loads passing through the work zone.
