The Council on Aging will host its Annual Hats Off to Moms celebration in honor of Mother’s Day on Thursday, May 08 from 1:00 pm-3:00 pm at the Sydnie Mae Durand Activity Center. Seniors aged 60 and older are encouraged to invite their daughters to join them for this festive occasion. A decorative tea station will be set up so that participants can enjoy a variety of flavorful teas and refreshments, so feel free to bring your own favorite tea cup. Coffee will also be made available, as well as a light lunch.
Renee Allen with KLFY TV-10 will serve as the emcee for this event. Musical entertainment will be provided by Ms. Helen Boudreaux from 1:00 pm-1:45 pm. There will be a sing-along shortly afterwards and door prizes will be given throughout the event. There will also be time to socialize and take photos at a photo booth. As in the past, there will be a hat judging contest, so everyone is encouraged to wear their prettiest hats. The winner will take home a beautiful floral arrangement provided by one of our local merchants. This is a non-alcoholic event. Admission is free and open to the public.
