Cade – A St. Martinville man turned himself in to the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office and was arrested on Saturday, April 12, in relation to a fatal March 22 shooting in Cade.
Lathan Jon Brown, 18, of St. Martinville, was arrested and charged on a warrant in regard to the following state statute: • LA R.S.
14:27/LA R.S. 14:30.1-Attempt-Second Degree Murder (1 count).
Brown is the second person arrested in connection with the shooting. Michael Jor - dan Zachary Jr., 19, of Washington, La., was arrested on March 23 after he fled the scene and got into a motor vehicle accident with another vehicle at the coroner of Smede Highway and La. 182.
Zachary was transported to a local hospital and treated for injuries from the accident and was arrested upon his release.
Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sher- iff's Office responded to a 911 call regarding a shooting in the 1600 block of Smede Highway at around 10:20 p.m.

Deputies learned after an initial investigation upon arrival that a verbal altercation occurred between several people prior to the suspect shooting into the group before fleeing the scene.
Three victims of the shooting were transported to local hospitals. One of the victims, Javeuin Williams, 20, of Breaux Bridge, died from his injuries.
