Work is advancing on the construction of a new bridge connecting the Herman Dupuis Road with the Catahoula Lavee Hwy as crews install pilings that will support the new structure. Shavers & Whittle Construction LLC of Mandeville is doing the work under a $7.23 million contract. The new bridge will replace the old pontoon structure at left.
