Gators no match for Bulldogs

Lafayette – Cecilia exploded to a 28-0 first quarter lead and was on top 42-7 at halftime on the way to an easy 42-21 victory over Beau Chene last Friday.

With the win the Bulldogs claimed the District 5-4A championship, going unbeaten in league play. After starting the season with four losses, coach Dennis Skains’ squad reeled off six wins to finish with a 6-4 record and both the St. Martin Parish and 5-4A titles.

Fitness comes in many forms, and for a growing number of people, sports is one of the most appealing ways to stay in shape.

Health and socialization are the driving forces behind the growing popularity of adult recreational sports leagues, particularly among millennials. According to Sports Marketing Surveys USA, a research company that provides data for the Sports and Fitness Industry Association, millennials are twice as likely as their Generation X counterparts to participate in team sports as adults. However, adult leagues attract people of all ages and from both genders.
