Willie Francis Gardemal Jr.

Parks – A celebration of life memories will be held at 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at the Coteau Homes Hall, for Willie Francis Gardemal Jr., 79, who passed away at Lafayette General Hospital on January 29, 2018.
Brother Jessie Chapentier will officiate over the sharing and prayer vigil at 2 p.m.
Born in St. Martinville on March 30, 1938, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Willie “Pop” will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He was retired from Martin Mills after 26 years of working as a bleach supervisor. He loved fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with his very large and loving family.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lois Harvell Gardemal; three daughters, Sandra Dee Ann (Everic) Stutes, Stacy Macip and Julia Gardemal; one son, Oliver Gardemal, all of Parks; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Cormier of Breaux Bridge, and two nieces and one nephew.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Sr. and Lydia Champagne Gardemal of St. Martinville; one son Willie (Bill) Gardemal III; a sister, Dorothy Richard of Lafayette; and a Godson, Tracy Richard of Lafayette.
