Verna Theresa Laviolette

Catahoula – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2019, at St. Rita Catholic Church for Verna Theresa Laviolette, 85, who passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home.
Visiting hours were observed at Dion Hall from 12 p.m. on Wednesday and continued until 10:45 a.m. on Thursday. A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Rev. Garrett Savoie fficiated at the Funeral Mass. Readers were Crystal David and Hayden Morvant. Gift Bearers were Layke Landry and Emily David.
Interment followed at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula.
Mrs. Laviolette enjoyed watching Hallmark Channel, reading, and playing Bingo and Pokeno. She cherished moments spent with her family, especially during family gatherings.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Cynthia Blanchard, Cheryl Latiolais and husband Claybert Sr.; sons, Carroll Laviolette and wife Tina, Alvon Laviolette Jr. and wife Lori; sister, Lorraine Fitch; grandchildren, Nikki Morvant and spouse Mike, Carroll Laviolette, Tammy Landry and spouse Kody, Chastity Latiolais, Cristin Morvant and spouse Pee-Wee, Chantelle Latiolais, Claybert Latiolais Jr. and spouse Danielle, Joan Blanchard, Allen Blanchard Jr. and spouse Crystal, Latisha Granger and spouse Orie, Bevon Senette, Alexi Laviolette, Jeremy Patin, Josh Patin and spouse Michelle, Crystal David and spouse Danny, Heather Richard and spouse John, Chelsy Champagne and spouse Chad, and Cody Theriot and spouse Christy Beck; 47 great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild; sisters-in-law, Dianne Landry and Brenda Laviolette; and brother-in-law, JB Laviolette.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvon Laviolette Sr.; parents, Aristille and Gladys Theriot Landry; son, Kenneth Laviolette; daughter, Gloria Laviolette; brothers, Lawrence Landry, Jean Roy Landry and Lennis Landry; grandchild, Terry Theriot; son-in-law, Allen Blanchard Sr.; brother-in-law, Francis Fitch; and sister-in-law, Sue Landry.
Pallbearers were T-Cal Laviolette, Mike Morvant, Peewee Morvant, Joshua Patin, Cody Theriot and Danny David.
Honorary pallbearers were her granddaughters.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Grace Hospice, Landmark of Acadiana, Maison de Williams, Golden Rule, and Patrick LeBlanc for their love and care during Mrs. Laviolette’s life.
