Theresa Ann Wiltz

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Theresa Ann Wiltz , 80, who passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at The Carpenter House - St. Joseph Hospice.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and continue on Saturday at 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Rev. Michael Sucharski, SVD, will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville.
She enjoyed talking on the phone, giving advice, fishing, and looked forward to Holiday meals prepared by family. Theresa loved caring for her nieces and nephew and being a mother figure to all,  especially  her great niece, Hailey Jean Roberson.
She was devoted to her husband of 58 years who she loved unconditionally and her godchildren, Peggy Lewis, Cleotha Etienne, Clifton Lewis, Sharmaine Gaston, Mary Agnes Fontenette and Donna Barras, and her fur baby, Lulu. 
Theresa will be remembered for her dedication to all family and friends. In Theresa’s memory, donations can be made to the Carpenter House.
She is survived by her loving husband of  58 years, Joseph Wiltz of Lafayette; sisters, Rose Etienne and her spouse, Lumis and Evelyn Lewis, both of Galveston, Texas; brother, Eugene Lewis Jr. of Galveston, Texas; niece, Nicole Roberson and spouse Robert of St. Martinville; nephew, Brandon Batiste (Candace) of Cade; Godchildren, Peggy Lewis and Clifton Lewis, both of Breaux Bridge, Cleotha Etienne of Galveston, Texas, and Donna Barras of Atlanta, Ga.; great niece, Hailey Roberson of St. Martinville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Louise Lewis; infant children; sisters, Bernice Alexander, Mary Harris, Antonia Brown, Earline Lewis and Verlie Lewis; brothers, Joseph Lewis, Ernest Lewis, Larry Lewis and Paul Lewis;  sister-in-law, Virginia Wiltz; brother-in-law, Junius Ledet; and nephew, Ricky Wiltz.
Pallbearers will be Roderick Wiltz, Brandon Batiste, Ray Stone, Keitha Sam, Jerry Lewis, Richard Fabian and Clifton Lewis.
Honorary pallbearers will be  Ron Lewis, Robert Roberson, Fred Boyo, Charles Wiltz, Dwight Barras, Patrick Antoine, Wesley Lewis, Sam  Lewis, Albert  Alexander, Lumis Etienne and Eugene Lewis.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to The Carpenter House, Iberia Comprehensive Community Health Center, Surrey Street Community Health Center, Lafayette General Medical Center and Lafayette Physical Rehabilitation.  
The family would also like acknowledge her caregivers, Nicole Roberson, Peggy Lewis, Diane Castille, Linda Anderson, Maxine Nicholas, Mary Agnes Fontenette, Mary Alice Lewis and Alaysia Journet.  Special thanks to Linda Porter, Allison Mercier, Stacie Mitchell, Amanda Orphe, Robert Roberson, Charles Wiltz and Carolyn Wiltz for care and compassion given during her time of illness.
