Thaddeus ‘Thad’ Jude Bourque

St. Martinville – Family and friends are invited to St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church, 133 S. Main Street, on Saturday, March 10, 2018, for a memorial Mass at 11 a.m. to celebrate the life of Thad Bourque, who died unexpectedly on January 30, 2018, at his home in St. Martinville, La.
Thad was born in Kaplan, Louisiana on March 7, 1968, to Bobby J. Bourque and the late Susan Bordelon Bourque. He attended Catahoula Elementary School and was a graduate of St. Martinville High School. From an early age, Thad loved everything about cars. He spent hours building models and learning everything he could about automobiles, especially racing cars.
He worked a number of years for businesses that restore vintage collectors’ cars to their original factory condition. He was a gifted auto mechanic with the unique ability to diagnose and fix almost any problem he encountered.
Several years ago, he decided to follow in the footsteps of his paternal grandfather to the sugar cane farming industry. Even though the work was hard and the days long, he was always excited to be “back in the fields.” In the off-season, he did maintenance work on farm equipment.
Thad was gentle and kind hearted; always willing to help people whenever he could.
He was preceded in death by his mother; paternal grandparents, Daniel and Modeste Barras Bourque, Catahoula, La.; and maternal grandparents, Leeman and Evelyn Rabalais Bordelon, Kaplan, La.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Irvin Bourque of Oklahoma and her family; father, Bobby J. Bourque and wife Irene of Baton Rouge, La.; sisters, Helene Bourque of St. Martinville and Michelle Bourque of Lafayette; and their children, Braiton Trim and Tristan and Trista Bourque; aunt, Marion B. Dugas (Creed) of New Iberia; and uncle, Louis Bourque of Catahoula; as well as numerous cousins and friends.
The family sincerely appreciates your continuing prayers and kind expressions of sympathy.
