Catahoula – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at St. Rita Catholic Church for Tajuanah Ann Barras, 56, who passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2019, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Dion Hall in Catahoula from 10:30 a.m. until time of service on Thursday.
A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Rev. Bill Melancon will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Gift Bearer will be Kimberly Frohock. Scriptures will be read by Kylie Boutte and Charlie Bourque.
Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula.
Tajuanah enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and going to the casino. Spending time with her grandchildren brought her so much joy in her life.
She is survived by her son, Dustin Faucheaux and wife Josie of Catahoula; daughter, Kristie Faucheaux of St. Martinville; mother, Vivian Barras of St. Martinville; sisters, Faye Bourque and husband Terry of Catahoula, Sharon Barras of St. Martinville and Julie Boutte and husband Ken of Catahoula; brothers, Kip Barras and Julien “Ponky” Barras, both of St. Martinville; and her grandchildren, Dayton, Keagon, Jayda and Dawson Faucheaux, and Karter, Kylon and Kadyn James.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harris Joseph Barras; maternal grandmother, Elmire Montet; maternal grandfather, Corbert Savoy; and paternal grandparents, Charles and Angelle Barras.
Pallbearers will be Dustin, Dayton and Keagon Faucheaux, Kip and Julien Barras, and Timothy Bourque.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie and Dawson Faucheaux, and Karter, Kadyn and Kylon James.
