Robert Phillips
St. Martinville – A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 11, 2017, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Robert Phillips, 67, who passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017, at The Carpenter House St. Joseph Hospice.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Monday at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville. A rosary will be prayed at 9 a.m. on Monday.
Rev. Thomas James, S.V.D. will officiate at the Funeral Service. Readers will be Shirley Phillips, Marvella Phillips and Sharlene Matthews. Interment will follow at House of Love Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Mr. Phillips was a member of the Crazy Hat Riders Trail Riding Club. He cherished moments spent with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa Johnson Phillips of St. Martinville; daughters, Constance Phillips of St. Martinville, Cora Bruno and husband Clifford of Carencro, Veronica Bonnet and husband Adam of Lafayette, Dorene Johnnie Solete and husband Greg of Lafayette, and Mary Lopez and husband Grove of Broussard; mother, Modesta Phillips of St. Martinville; brothers, Melvin Phillips and wife Shirley of St. Martinville, Allen Phillips and wife Caroline of St. Martinville, George Phillips of Houston, and Martin Phillips Jr. of St. Martinville; sisters, Veronica Phillips of Houston, Merline Batiste and husband Max of Breaux Bridge and Earline Phillips of Lafayette; grandchildren, Rhanel Phillips of St. Martinville, Rh’era Phillips of St. Martinville, Gabreyon Phillips of St. Martinville, Shanrika Alfred of Baton Rouge, Shanice Alfred of Carencro, Shawntell Alfred of Carencro, Neil Linton of Lafayette, Nacresha Linton of Lafayette, Nathan Linton of Lafayette, Brydrick Tate of Lafayette, Christian Johnson of Oklahoma and Keith Lopez of Broussard; and great-grandchildren, Ralyn Cross, Destinee Dangerfield, Ma’Layah Beniot, Sha’Neil Linton, Ja’Shaun Linton, Prince Blanchard, Arianna Blanchard, Mason Tate and Nailah Blanchard.
He was preceded in death by his father, Martin Phillips Sr.; sister, Alverta Anderson; brother-in-law, Ricky Anderson; and a niece, Shareall Phillips.
Pallbearers will be Gilbert Matthews Jr., Michael Pete Sr., Neil Bob Sr., Jacolby Lewis Sr., Travis Charles Sr. and Mark Bonnet.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Bonnet, Melvin Phillips, Allen Phillips, Martin Phillips Jr. and George Phillips.
