Patsy Delaune Akers

St. Martinville – A memorial service conducted by Brother Jessie Charpentier, pastor of Jenkins Memorial Baptist Church, was held on Saturday, January 18, 2020, for Patsy Delaune Akers, 86, who passed away at her home on January 13, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.
Patsy was a lifelong resident of the St. Martinville area. A loving wife, patient and fun-loving mother, and loving and caring grandmother and great grandmother to her family. She loved camping with her family and bowling with her friends. An artist of many talents, she enjoyed pouring, firing and painting her own ceramic creations. Later in life she enjoyed oil painting, sewing and quilting with the ladies from the Quilting Guild.
Survivors include her loving husband of 64 year,s Clyde F. Akers Jr.; sons, Clyde Akers III and his wife Anne of Parks, Steve Akers and his wife Margie of Spring, Texas, and Isaac Akers and his wife Toni of St. Martinville; daughters, Lisa Akers and Robin Akers of St. Martinville; 12 grandchildren including Clyde “Bo,” Courtney, Taylor, Estella, Alyssa, Devon, Kenedi and Raegan Akers, Hannah Latiolais and Layla Malcom and husband Justin, and five great-grandchildren including Daniel, Briana and Bella Akers, Ashtyn Spell and Rylynn Hebert.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tilden and Manola (Lasseigne) Delaune; one brother, Richard Delaune; and one grandson, Baily Ian Mount.
