Odile Thibodeaux

Arnaudville – Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at a 3 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Regis Catholic Church for Odile Thibodeaux, 91, the former Odile LaGrange, who passed away Friday, May 25, 2018, at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment was in St. Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. The Rev. Travis Abadie, pastor of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church, officiated at the services.
Musical selections were provided by Karen Broussard. The songs were Ave Maria, Hail Mary Gentle Woman, Precious Lord Take My Hand, Psalm 23 and Wind Beneath My Wings.
Giftbearers were Ronnie Dalfrey, Nicole Darbonne and Brandy Bourque. Readings were recited by Susie Smiley.
Mrs. Thibodeaux was a native and lifelong resident of Arnaudville. She was a parishioner of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church. She lived to care for her family and enjoyed cooking for everyone. She was a beautiful lady, inside and out. She truly loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her loving husband of 72 years, Percy Paul Thibodeaux of Arnaudville; five sons, Percy Thibodeaux and wife Glenda, Larry Thibodeaux and wife Judy, both of Arnaudville, Edward Thibodeaux and wife Mary of Lafayette, Lonnie Thibodeaux and wife Vicki of Cankton, and Ricky Thibodeaux and wife Penny of Arnaudville; two daughters, Debra Pelafigue and husband Ulysse of Rutledge, Tenn., and Sheryl Bourque and husband Wayne of Leonville; 28 grandchildren, 58 great- grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lucy “Chu Chu” Hardy of Arnaudville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice LaGrange and the former Regina Olivier; and three brothers, John Berton “J.B.” LaGrange, Joseph LaGrange and Harry Lee LaGrange.
A rosary was prayed at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
Visiting hours were observed from 9 a.m. Tuesday until service time on Tuesday.
Pallbearers were Shannon Bourque, Gage Thibodeaux, Matthew Thibodeaux, Travis Thibodeaux, Clint Thibodeaux and Joey Thibodeaux. Honorary pallbearers were P.J. Thibodeaux, Larry Thibodeaux, Edward Thibodeaux, Lonnie Thibodeaux, Ricky Thibodeaux, Wayne Bourque and Ulysse Pelafigue.
Melancon Funeral Home of Arnaudville (337-754-5725) was in charge of arrangements.
