Murphy Lasseigne

Catahoula – A Funeral Service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 15, 2018, at Dion Hall for Murphy Lasseigne, 88, who passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Iberia Medical Center.
Visiting hours were observed at the Dion Hall from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Monday.
A rosary was prayed at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
Rev. Richard Fabre officiated at the Funeral Service. Interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Murphy was a veteran of the Korean War, honorably serving his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion. As a pastime, he enjoyed cooking for benefits that would help those in need of raising money. Murphy will be remembered for his well-kept yard, clean car, and his opinionated thoughts.
He is survived by his son, Kirk Lasseigne and wife Jackie of St. Martinville; his daughter, Jeannine Lasseigne of St. Martinville; and his grandchildren, Jensen Lasseigne of St. Martinville and Caroline Lasseigne of Baton Rouge.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Marie Lasseigne; and his parents, Leston and Stella Johnson Lasseigne.
