Morris John ‘Pye’ Theriot

Parks – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Morris John “Pye” Theriot, 68, who passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at Iberia General Hospital & Medical Center.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Wednesday and continued on Thursday from 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Rev. Nicholas DuPre’ officiated at the Funeral Mass. Interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Morris was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 289, Sal of Legion, Cursillo, and was a Eucharistic Minister. He enjoyed fishing and entertaining his family and friends. Morris dedicated his life to the oil industry and loved every day of work.
He is survived by his loving spouse Priscilla Trosclair Theriot; sons, Marty Theriot and wife Sheri of St. Martinville, and Mercury Theriot and wife Susan of St. Martinville; brothers, Marcel Theriot II of New Iberia, Macie Theriot of New Iberia and Max Theriot of Lafayette; grandchildren, Mallory Lopez and spouse Lance, Steven Ward, Dekota Ward, Matthew Theriot, Kristen Theriot, and Zachary Theriot; great grandchildren, Cassie Lopez, Jude Lopez, Jordan Ward, Mia Lopez, Lucy Lopez and Steven Ward Jr.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marcel Theriot Sr., mother, Mable Touchet Theriot; brother, Murphy Theriot; and sister, Mazel Theriot Courville.
Pallbearers were Matthew Theriot, Zachary Theriot, Lance Lopez, Ronnie Courville, Gavin Theriot and Kelly Courville.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville was in charge of arrangements.
