Louis Paul Guidry

Breaux Bridge – A Masonic service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Louis Paul Guidry, 77, who passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, and continue on Thursday at 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. A rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Mr. Gean Choplin will officiate at the Masonic service. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Mr. Guidry was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Breaux Bridge and St. Martinville for most of his adult life. During his free time, he enjoyed spending time outdoors with family and friends and Saca-lait fishing. He took great pride in doing woodwork for the family and building model vehicles made of wood. When it came to his woodwork, there was no craft that he could not master. Mr. Guidry enjoyed watching sports, especially the Saints, ULL, LSU, and Cecilia Bulldogs. He cherished moments spent with family and friends, especially watching his grandchildren participate in extracurricular activities. He is survived by his loving wife, Nellie Dupuis Guidry of Breaux Bridge; sons, Paul Jude Guidry and wife, Katie of Baton Rouge and Bryan Louis Guidry Sr. and wife, Victoria of Winnie, Texas; daughter, Paula Guidry Dupuis and husband, David of Carencro; brother, Paul Guidry and wife, Eva of Dunwoody, Ga.; grandchildren, Megan Dupuis Benoit and spouse, Josh, Morgan Dupuis, Mallory Dupuis, Macy Dupuis, and Bryan Guidry, Jr. and spouse, Hiroko; step-grandchildren, James Desrosiers and Monique Gonzales; and great grandchildren, Sophia Benoit and Kei Guidry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ann Latiolais Guidry; brothers, Raymond Guidry and Harold Guidry; one infant brother; sister, Mary Ann Gary; and a step-grandchild, Stephanie Desrosiers. Pallbearers will be his Masonic Brothers. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Jude Guidry, Bryan Louis Guidry Sr., Bryan Guidry Jr., and David Dupuis. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
