Louella Gonsuron Choplin

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2020, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Louella Gonsuron Choplin, 73, who passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2020.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Thursday.
A rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. on Thursday.
Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Lou was born on January 19, 1947, in Breaux Bridge. She was a graduate of Breaux Bridge High School – Class of 1965. She loved helping people and especially enjoyed caring for the elderly. Lou had a special way of always making their days brighter. Spending quality time with her husband and family were her favorite moments. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Choplin Jr. of Breaux Bridge; two sons, John (Janice) Choplin of Breaux Bridge and Shannon (Marcy Lasseigne) Choplin of Breaux Bridge; grandchild, Noah Choplin; nine sisters, Irene Gonsuron, Hazel Daigle, Betty (Frank) Varisco, Euline Vanwee, Eunice (Carol) Langlinais, Verna Fruge, Mary Nell (Alpha) Courville, Diane Braquet and Carma (Fred) Glas; and two brothers, Lanis (Delores) Belaire and Ray (Anne) Coomer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Marie Belaire Sr.; adoptive parents, John Lloyd and Leonora Gonsuron; daughter, Aimee Choplin; sister, Mary Ann Foote; brother, Maurice Belaire Jr.; and nephew, Buzz Sanson.
