Lindsay Peter Bourda Sr.

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Lindsay Peter Bourda Sr., 78, who passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at New Iberia Manor North.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Saturday.
A rosary will be prayed at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Rev. Michael Sucharski, SVD, will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Lindsay was a devout Catholic and a lifelong parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church. He enjoyed rabbit hunting, running his dogs, and working in his yard. Lindsay cherished moments spent with his family, especially playing with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dolores Lasseigne Bourda; sons, Cassius Bourda, Lindsay Bourda Jr., Barry Bourda and wife Fabia, and Eric Bourda; daughter, Abigail Jones and husband Mike; brothers, George Bourda Jr., Leward Bourda Sr. and wife Hilda, Christopher Bourda and wife Jackie, and Sandy Bourda Sr. and wife Kathy; sisters, Ella Alexander, Marie Decuir and husband Wonest, and Gretta Pierre and husband John; grandchildren, Tabatha Prejean and spouse Gage, Brandon Bourda, Kayla Thomas, Kevin Guidry-Jones Jr. and spouse Vanessa, Cassius “C.J.” Bourda Jr., Ariel Bourda, Camryn Leon, Devin Bourda and Olivia Jones; and his 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Etienne Bourda Sr.; brother-in-law, Lawrence Alexander Sr.; and one sister-in-law, Carolyn Bourda.
