Leatrice ‘Poup’ B. Charpentier

Breaux Bridge – A Funeral Service was held at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018, at Pellerin Funeral Home for Leatrice “Poup” B. Charpentier, 83, who passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 7 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. A rosary was prayed at 11 a.m. on Friday.
Deacon Marcel “Butch” Hebert officiated at the Funeral Service. A private burial will be held at a later date.
Ms. Charpentier enjoyed watching the New Orleans Saints and loved to read. She liked spending time outdoors and gardening. Poup loved “popular little sayings and quotes” and enjoyed sharing a good laugh with others. Most importantly, she was a wonderful person who loved life and cherished every moment spent with the ones she loved.
She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, Danny Blanchard (Elaine) and Dean Blanchard (Linda); daughters, Cheryl Blanchard (Roy), Doreen Trahan (Robert), Tina Hebert (Ron) and Melanie Tauzin (Todd); stepdaughters, Susan Charpentier and Bonnie Latiolais (Andy); brother, Don Broussard (Velma); sisters, Gloria “Toot” Brasseaux and Louella “T-Lou” Blanchard; 12 grandchildren, 18 greatgrandchildren, four step-grandchildren and sixstep-greatgrandchildren; and the father of her children, Dieu Donne “D.D.” Blanchard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jules and Leoncia Dupuis Broussard; husband, Allen Charpentier; granddaughter, Ashley Hebert; sisters, Earline Castille and Audrey Thibodeaux; and brother, Russell Broussard.
Her children would like to give special thanks to their dad “D.D.” Blanchard, niece Elaine Thibodeaux, Marella Lanerie, Elaine Johnson, and Peggie Broussard for their love and excellent care they provided.
Memorial contributions can be made in Ms. Charpentier’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
