Laurence Dugas Latiolais

Catahoula – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Laurence Dugas Latiolais at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at St. Rita’s Catholic Church. Fr. Richard Fabre was the celebrant. She was laid to rest in Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery following the Mass.
A gathering of family and friends was held at the Dion Hall in Catahoula on Monday, June 4 from 3 p.m. and remained open all night until service time Tuesday. The Rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. Monday.
Laurence, affectionately known as “LoLo”, was born November 12, 1922, in St. Martin Parish to the late Aldus Dugas Sr. and the late Edolia Noel Dugas. She passed away peacefully Sunday, June 3, 2018, at Landmark of Acadiana surrounded by her loving family.
LoLo was a homemaker who devoted her life to the love and care of her family. Some of her pastimes were playing Pokeno and bingo, and trips to the casino with friends. Her greatest joy was the time spent with her grandchildren. She absolutely adored them and cherished those moments. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children, Harold Latiolais and wife Velma, Costa Latiolais Jr. and wife Susan, Claybert Latiolais and wife Cheryl; her son-in-law, Edward Domingue Sr.; 12 grandchildren, Marvin Latiolais and wife Tonya, Cara Vicknair, Kiley Latiolais and wife Crystal, Edward Domingue Jr., Lisa Domingue, Costa Latiolais III and wife April, Karen Berthelot and husband Scott, Kory Latiolais, Chastity Latiolais, Cristin Morvant and husband PeeWee, Chantelle Latiolais and Claybert Latiolais Jr.; a host of great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Elsie Blanchard, Anna Mae Blanchard, Linda Rader, Peggy Randazzo, Lorena Dugas and Aldus Dugas Jr.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Costa Latiolais Sr.; her daughter, Marion Domingue; and her siblings, Mabel Bourque, Antonia Bourque, Bernadette Courville, Edmonia Borel, Alvin Dugas and Daniel Dugas.
Serving as pallbearers were Kory Latiolais, Costa Latiolais III, Edward Domingue,Jr. and Kalem Vicknair. Marvin Latiolais served as honorary pallbearer.
