Gercie P. Faucheux

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 4, 2019, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Gercie P. Faucheux, 92, who passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at Azalea Estates of New Iberia.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday and continued on Friday from 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
A rosary wase prayed at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
Rev. Garrett Savoie officiated at the Funeral Mass. Readers were Elaine Perioux and Sandra P. Champeaux.
Interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Gercie enjoyed reading, line dancing, going to the casino, playing bingo, visiting with relatives and friends and going for long walks.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oswald Joseph Faucheaux; sisters, Mabel Lasseigne, Yolande Leger, Doris Hernandez, Pearly Broussard and Marie Broussard; and brothers, Dalton Perioux, Wesley Perioux and Ernest Perioux.
Pallbearers were Garland Broussard, Rickey Perioux, Dennis Periou, Ronald Leger, Tony Broussard and Richard Perioux.
Honorary pallbearers were Louis Eldrige, Barry Desormeaux, Ivy Perioux and Farron Periou.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville was in charge of arrangements.
