Georgie P. Broussard

Cecilia – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Georgie P. Broussard, 96, who passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at Landmark of Acadiana.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
A rosary was prayed at 12 p.m. on Tuesday.
Rev. Gregory Cormier officiated at the Funeral Mass. Readers were Cari Broussard, Nichole Broussard and Brenda Benoit.
Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia.
Georgie enjoyed working in her yard, especially with her flowers. She loved shopping, sewing, and visiting with her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Audrey Guidry and husband Melvin of Parks, and Lisa Martin and husband Marko of Lafayette; sons, Allen Broussard and wife Judy of Breaux Bridge, and Richard Broussard and wife Annette of Breaux Bridge; sister, JoAnne Romero of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Brenda Benoit, Mark Guidry, Michelle Hining, Nichole Broussard, Brent Broussard, Cari Broussard, Tanner Martin, Devin Martin, Logan Martin and Kaitlin Martin; great-grandchildren, Morghan Guidry, Jaydyn Guidry, Gabby Benoit, Gaige Broussard, Aiden Broussard, Rylee Broussard, Paityn Broussard, Shelby Burgin, Reed Burgin, Alex Martin, Chloe Thibodeaux and Gavin Thibodeaux; and great-great-grandchildren, Corbin Thibodeaux and Cameron Hukins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Demetruis and Emerite Broussard Pothier; husband, Ames Broussard; brother, Golphe Pothier; and sister, Gussie Chaisson.
Pallbearers were Tanner Martin, Logan Martin, Brent Broussard, Gaige Broussard, Jimmy Benoit and Joey Romero.
Honorary pallbearer was Gavin Thibodeaux.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia was in charge of arrangements.
