Florence LeBlanc Duplechien

Cecilia - A Funeral Service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia for Florence Duplechien, 81, who passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 2:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Monday and continue on Tuesday at 8 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. A rosary was prayed on Monday.
Pastor Jake Bondurant officiated at the Funeral Service. Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia.
Miss Flo, (Me-Me) as she was lovingly known by everyone, was called home unexpectantly on Friday by her Lord Savior Jesus Christ.  Her faith was uncompromising.  She fought a very courageous 14-year battle with numerous illnesses.  She was a fighter until the end.  Family and friends meant everything to her.  She loved to crochet afghans and baby blankets.  Me-Me was such a kind and giving person.  She will be sadly missed.  May she finally rest. 
The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at Freenius Dialysis in Breaux Bridge, who were also family to her, for 14 years of service and dedication, Dr. Jeanne Theriot, who she loved dearly, and the staff at Lafayette General Emergency for their care and kindness, especially Erin and Elizabeth in ER.  Thank you, Deacon Randy.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Zeringue and husband Neal of Breaux Bridge; son, Claude James Duplechien and wife Gina of Lafayette; brother, Roland Joseph LeBlanc of Breaux Bridge; sisters, Margaret Duplechien of Cecilia, and Janelle Ann Huval and husband Gene of Breaux Bridge; grandchildren, Brandy  Champagne, Brooke Zeringue, Garrett Zeringue, Nicholas Duplechien, and John Duplechien; great grandchildren, Sage Champagne, Sebastian Champagne, Stevie Rae Champagne, Macie Savoie, Drake Savoie, and Brian Zeringue; and numerous nieces and nephews. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Robert Duplechien; parents, Holden and Isabelle Hebert LeBlanc; brother, Lawrence LeBlanc; niece, Denise Huval; sister-in-law, Dolly LeBlanc; and brother-in-law, Larry Duplechien.
Pallbearers were Garrett Zeringue, Sebastian Champagne, Drake Savoie, Todd Huval, Roland Joseph LeBlanc Jr., and Neal Zeringue.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia was in charge of arrangements.
