Anna Mae Narcisse Gedward

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Anna Mae Narcisse Gedward, 92, who passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at Maison de Lafayette.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7 a.m. until time of service on Saturday.
A rosary will be prayed at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Rev. Michael Sucharski, SVD, and Rev. Darrell Kelly, SVD will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Elva Gedward Moore and Eboni Bourda. Gift bearers will be Destini Butler, I’vre Narcisse Cooper, Tori Mallery and Kevin Mallery Jr.
Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Anna was a devout Catholic and parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, decorating, music and traveling. Anna loved her family and enjoyed each moment spent with them. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Avery Gedward (Karen); daughters, Jeannette Bourda (Eluger), Beverly Catherine Ledet, Jerry Dianne Martin (Terry Joseph), Elva Gedward Moore, Sandra Noel (Aaron) Eunita Ann Gedward andBetty Dotson (Franklin); brothers, Weldon Narcisse Sr. (Georgia) and Delton Narcisse; sisters, Anna Eve Celestain, Eula Mae Jones (Warren), Loucinda Hurd and Rose Mary Narcisse; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gedward; parents, Joseph “Pacout” and Elva Hypolite Narcisse; and brothers, Avery Narcisse and Dennis Narcisse and two great grandsons Mark Dotson and Devin Bourda.
Pallbearers will be Elegur Bourda Jr., Aaron Noel Jr., Terry Martin Jr., Jarvis Dotson, Escallera Martin and Arthur Gedward Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Avery Gedward, Delton Narcisse, Weldon Narcisse Sr., Leonard Narcisse, Horace Narcisse, Wourance Jones Jr., Joseph Hypolite, Clarence Kerlegan Jr., Malcom Kerlegan and Wourance Jones Sr.
