Allen A. ‘Cap’ Scrantz
Cecilia – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2019, at St. Joseph Catholic for Allen A. “Cap” Scrantz, 76, who passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Wednesday, and continue on Thursday from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Rev. Keith Landry will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Ella Goulas and Robyn Scrantz. Gift bearers will be his grandchildren.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia.
Allen, also known as “Cap,” was born in Cecilia to the late Evariste and Cecile Amy Scrantz. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. Allen was a hard worker who enjoyed being around people and visiting with friends and family. Family was very important to him. His children, grandchildren and sweet dog, Nottie meant the world to him.
Allen will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving spouse of 56 years, Burline Bergeron Scrantz; sons, Kevin Scrantz and wife Belinda, Bryan Scrantz and Jeremiah Scrantz and wife Robyn; daughter, Tina Guidry and husband Lance; brothers, Paul “Tee” Scrantz and wife Carol and David Scrantz and wife Elizabeth; sisters, Oline Huval and Elaine Coles and husband Kim; grandchildren, Brandon Scrantz, Tori Guidry, Colyn Scrantz, Elly Scrantz, Jaden Scrantz and Kohl Scrantz; great-grandchildren, BreAnna, Chanyng, and Braxtyn Scrantz, Aubery Guidry and Cameron Nini; and his godchild, Ella Goulas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Evariste “Red” Scrantz; mother, Cecile Amy Scrantz; brother, Roy Scrantz; daughter-in-law, Frieda Scrantz; brother-in-law, Ernest Huval; and grandchildren, Alex Mitchell and two angel babies.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Scrantz, Bryan Scrantz, Jeremiah Scrantz, Brandon Scrantz, Lance Guidry and Randy Huval.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tori Guidry, Colyn Scrantz, Jaden Scrantz, Cony Fernandes, Brent Huval, Elliot Miller, Glenn Ashey and Blair Scrantz.
