Alex Scott Bernard

St. Martinville – A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at Our Savior’s Church in Broussard for Alex Scott Bernard, 20, who passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in St. Martinville from 11 a.m. on Tuesday and continue until 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Pastor Gabe Smith will be the Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
Alex was born March 12, 1998, in Lafayette. He enjoyed playing pool, video games, fishing, going to church and being with his family and friends. Alex had a compassionate heart and always helped others in need. His family meant everything to him, especially his younger sister, Alyssa. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving parents, Scott and Lori Hayes Bernard; his sister, Alyssa Bernard; his paternal grandparents, James and Carol Bernard; his maternal grandparents, Shelton and Terry Hayes Sr. his aunt, Amy Berard and husband Brian; his uncle, Shelton Hayes Jr. and wife Leah; and numerous cousins.
Alex was proceeded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Esther and Alcibidae Boutte and Margaret and Ben Hayes; his paternal great-grandparents, Shedrick and Beatrice Champagne; great grandparents, Anaise Girouard Bernard and Ignae Bernard; and a number of aunts and uncles that he loved dearly.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Smith, Don Arnold Jr., Warren Smith, Wallace Williams, Ryan Hebert and Cody Albert.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Berard, Steve Caillier, Shelton Hayes Jr. and Christian Johnson.
