Alberta L. Malveaux

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Alberta L. Malveaux, 82, who passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at her residence.
Visiting hours were observed at the Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Friday.
A rosary was prayed at 9 a.m. on Friday.
Rev. Thomas James officiated at the Funeral Mass. Interment followed at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Alberta was employed in the insurance industry for many years and was an educator in the St. Martin Parish School system for over 20 years.
In the late 70’s she converted to Catholicism and joined her husband and son as a parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church. She was a member of the Associates of the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament (ASBS), Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary – Court 54, Ladies Altar Society, Drexel Society, and the Legion of Mary. Her dedicated service and contributions to the community as a CCD teacher and a Eucharistic Minister will always be remembered as a part of her immense Catholic faith.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Calvin Malveaux; her son, Kirk W. Malveaux and wife Denise of Cypress, Texas; two grandchildren, Morgan E. Malveaux and Krystyn M. Malveaux of Cypress, Texas; a great-grandchild, Riley E. Malveaux of Cypress, Texas; and her brother, Norris Louviere and wife Tommiesazine of Port Arthur, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ceanna Alexander Louviere; sisters, Edna Simon, Lorena Ledet, Anita Matthews, Lera Alexander and Florence Johnson; and brothers, Albert Louviere Jr., Hilary Louviere, Enos Louviere, Daniel Louviere and Felton Louviere.
