Catahoula – Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2010, at St. Rita Catholic Church for Rita Boudreaux Guilbeau, 84, who passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2010, at Camelot of Broussard.

Interment followed at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery.

Fr. Richard Fabre officiated at the Funeral Mass.

Mrs. Guilbeau was a wonderful cook who loved to prepare Sunday dinners for her family to get together and enjoy – those times they spent together created lasting memories that they will always treasure and never forget.

Survivors include two daughters, Elsie Guidry of St. Martinville and Alice Smith and her husband Tommy of Broussard; one son, Lester Joseph Guilbeau Jr. and his wife Marilyn of Morton, Mississippi; 14 grandchildren; one step granddaughter, and 30 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Joseph Guilbeau Sr.; a daughter, Jane Guidry; her parents, Homer and Edmonia Albert Boudreaux; and several brothers and sisters.

A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Friday.

Pallbearers were Elmer Guidry Jr., Trey Smith, Shane Guilbeau, Kane Guilbeau, Charlie Theriot and Jonathan Poche.

Pellerin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
