Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Deacon Ken Soignier conducted the funeral service.
“Pop-Jim” loved motorcycles, car races and boat races. The times that meant the most to him, were those spent with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa A. Friemel Scoggin of Breaux Bridge; three sons, James Lee Scoggin and fianceé Joanne of Breaux Bridge, Leland Mark Scoggin and wife Evelina of Lafayette, Mitchell Louis Scoggin and wife Traci of Carencro; one daughter, Stacey Lynn S. Friesen and husband Colby of Breaux Bridge; a step-son, Joseph Ybarra and wife Christina of Houston, Texas; two step-daughters, Tennille Adams of Carencro and Patrina Cranfill and husband Darrell of Magnolia, Texas; one brother, Jack Lee Scoggin and wife Debra of Cecilia; and 11 grandchildren, Sebastian, Gabrielle, Heather, Brandon, Taylor, Grant, Tommy, Brynan, Ali, Lea and Samantha.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Janet LeBlanc Scoggin; a son, Author Joseph Scoggin; brother, Ronnie Scoggin; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Scoggin; maternal grandparents, Carlos and Cecile LeBlanc; and a niece, Monica Thibodeaux.
Pallbearers were Grant Adams, Elton Scoggin, L.J. Boudreaux, Robert Benoit, Mitchell Scoggin, and Leland Scoggin.
Honorary pallbearers were Taylor Scoggin, Waylon Fontenot, Louis Landry and Harold Olivier.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia was in charge of arrangements.
