Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1.
Father Ed Degeyter officiated at the funeral Mass.
Hazel was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved gardening, working in her flowerbeds, and browsing for antiques. Hazel treasured the many times spent with her family; she especially loved being around her grandkids.
She was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church – her church community always held a special place in her heart. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her three sons, Ken Theriot of Breaux Bridge, Terry Theriot of Lafayette, and John Keith Theriot and his wife Virginia of Parks; one brother, Shirby Breaux and his wife Marella of Breaux Bridge; six grandchildren, Neville Theriot, Kristie Theriot, Rachel Theriot, Mia Fontenot, Jeanne Theriot, and Leilani Theriot; and three great-grandchildren, Joey Lombardo, Gabriel Theriot and Harley Satterley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Bill” Theriot; her parents, Eli and Ida Collins Breaux; two brothers, Ashton and Shirly Breaux; her sister, Hilda Savoie; and her daughter-in-law, Claire Theriot.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Pallbearers were Terry Theriot, John Keith Theriot, Ken Theriot, Shirby Breaux, Fred Theriot and Neville Theriot.
Honorary pallbearers were Eddie Breaux and Matthew Fontenot.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
