Qualifying starts today for October elections

St. Martinville – Clerk of Court Becky P. Patin says that qualifying for the Fall election on Saturday, Oct. 2 will take place beginning today, Wednesday, July 7, in her office in the Courthouse Annex.

Offices to be filled include clerk of court (special election) and school board members, as well as municipal offices in Breaux Bridge, Parks, Arnaudville and Broussard. In each town the officials include mayor, chief of police and aldermen.

Candidates may qualify between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, July 7-8; and from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday, July 9.

Fees must be paid by cash or money order, no personal checks accepted.
