Cecilia’s Lady Bulldogs lost their final regular season game to Teurlings Catholic, forcing them to share the District 6-4A softball championship with the Lady Rebels.

The loss left Cecilia with a regular season record of 16-9-1 and a league mark of 11-1.

Breaux Bridge came up short against Beau Chene in its season finale, falling to the Lady Gators by 7-6. With a 10-11, 7-5 season record, the Lady Tigers finished third in the district and earned a spot in the state playoffs.

Playoff action got underway Tuesday (too late for this week’s deadline), with No. 12 Cecilia hosting No. 21 DeRidder (11-11), and No. 22 Breaux Bridge travelling to Belle Chasse (18-14).

Should the two parish teams win, they will advance to the regional round on Saturday, April 24. Cecilia would play the winner of the No. 5 Teurlings Catholic/No. 28 Tara bi-district game on the road; Breaux Bridge would be at home against the winner of the No. 6 Lutcher/No. 27 O.P. Walker contest.
